When the stone is water grinding or dry grinding ?

When the stone is water grinding or dry grinding

Stone grinding without adding water is called dry grinding, and adding water when grinding is called water grinding. What’s the difference? How to choose?

What is the difference between dry grinding and water grinding?

The use of grinding tools is different :

At present, the mainstream of the market is mainly grinding, mostly made of artificial diamond particles and resin binders. Diamond is often referred to as synthetic diamond, concerning of resin, broadly speaking, it is a general term for various high molecular polymers that can be used as plastic raw materials.

The grinding of the stone causes friction between the grinding plate and the stone surface, and produces high temperature under the speed and pressure of the machine. This temperature can melt normal resin. The poor quality of the grinding plate is easy to cause deformation.

Adding water to stone grinding can accelerate the heat dissipation, the requirements of the composition of the grinding plate are slightly lower, and when the stone dry grinding has no effect of water, it slowly dissipates heat, so the resin used in the stone dry grinding plate must choose a high-quality resin that can withstand higher temperatures.

Simply say, due to the reason of composition, dry grinding can be water grinding, ordinary water grinding can not be dry grinding for a long time, the use of high-quality resin made of grinding, can be dry grinding or water grinding.

How to select grinding disc ?

Stone dry grinding without adding water, the heat dissipation is slow, so the resin used in the dry grinding plate must choose high temperature resistant high-quality resin.

The addition of water in stone grinding can accelerate the dissipation of heat, and the requirements for the composition of the grinding plate are slightly lower.

Because of the composition, dry grinding can be water grinding, ordinary water grinding can not be dry for a long time, the use of high-quality resin made of grinding, dry grinding can also be water grinding. Dry grinding is not absolutely without water, if the dry grinding process found dark stone turning white, you can add a little water while grinding, so that the effect will be better.

When is the water grinding?

The high temperature produced by grinding stone can cause certain damage to the structural crystals of stone. After high temperature burning, stone is prone to a series of problems such as loss of light, fragmentation, powder and so on.

The addition of water when grinding stone can accelerate the dissipation of heat and reduce the damage to stone. The natural temperature of the stone thrown out by the water grinding is soft and bright. For examples, non-woven diamond sponge polishing pads is working with water when grinding marble, granite, quartz these stone surface.

Under dry grinding conditions, due to the heat generated by friction instantaneously has a certain destructive effect on the crystal structure of the stone, so the luster produced by dry grinding has the phenomenon of dazzling, ablative, dry, and not transparent enough.

When to dry grinding?

1. Stone that has not been protected:

The stone without protection is easy to absorb water, and if the stone surface is opened by water grinding, the water absorption of the stone will extend the construction period. Therefore, the stone that has not been protected can be opened by dry grinding and the protective agent can be applied before the protection is applied.

2. Grinding and polishing link:

The stone grinding and grinding optimization link adopts water grinding, and in the grinding and polishing link, the light is accelerated by dry grinding. (The specific practice is to use the water grinding method to grind to 1000 mesh, the stone can add less water or even no water to semi-dry grinding or completely dry grinding, practical application will find that this is a very practical skill to help the stone light.)

3. Wall, corner, table:

The wall must be dry ground, because the wall does not have the conditions of water grinding. Imagine the client’s beautiful living room, brand new furniture, and the hand thrower throwing water everywhere…

The edge of the stone after grinding, such as the wall side, the corner of the large machine can not reach the place, can be dry grinding. As well as lines, small area defects, repair countertops, etc., dry grinding is more convenient.
